Requirement

To collect plant SCADA trends and store over 10 years of history with archiving on older data as well as to provide summary reports on multiple areas including daily production volumes, water quality, maintenance as well as ad hoc trend extracts for a fixed interval with multiple trends in a pivot table.

Challenges

The data volumes amounting to billions of storage points and restricted network as well as multiple calculations.

The Solution

Our Universal SCADA Data Collection Agent is able to handle data collection of thousands of tags at second intervals while optimising storage to minimise space required and still allowing fast data retrieval.

We also use our report SQL solution to enable simple report configuration while delivering standard reporting. This reporting layer not only ties in with our own historian data store but also links to most historians such as Siemens, AVEVA, Citect.

Along with the internal network reports, we also have a report summary layer that produces Bower BI analytics at a corporate level.
